TU chasing C-USA crown

InsideTulsaSports.com Back in December, if not before the season even started, it was pretty clear this was likely a down year for the Golden Hurricane.
The one-man-show of senior guard Justin Hurtt was nice, but wasn't going to put coach Doug Wojcik's team in contention to win the C-USA regular-season crown.
Right?
As February closed with another Tulsa victory, the Golden Hurricane was still very much alive for a regular-season crown with a 9-5 conference record, breathing down the neck of first-place UAB (10-4).
"For us to find a way and keep pace with everybody and being in a great position heading into the last week of the season is just a real testament to these guys," Wojcik said after Tulsa beat Tulane on Feb. 26. "It has been a real journey for us, and we've been finding ways."
Considering the team had just endured a 79-61 beat-down at Marshall three days prior, the Golden Hurricane responded quite well against Tulane. But that ability to shake off bad losses is nothing new for Tulsa.
