Kingwood Classic report: 2007 forwards
The Kingwood Classic wrapped up another tremendous three-day event Sunday afternoon at Westfield High School with the Southern Cal all-stars taking the 17U title. Three 2007 prospects that took part in the event are targets of the Texas Longhorns.
Gary Johnson, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin all continued their solid play on the spring circuit, with each guy flashing a wide array of talents.
As usual, Johnson was a big hit with college from the top college basketball programs. Coaches from Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Arizona and many others were regulars at Jordan's games.
Even though Griffin's brother Taylor plays at Oklahoma, that did not stop the college coaches from flooding to the gym. Griffin drew names such as Roy Williams, Mike Krzyewski and Billy Donovan amongst others. Griffin lists Texas among many teams and the interest is mutual.
