Q&A with Brandon Miller

UGASports had a chance to sit down with rising senior linebacker Brandon Miller earlier this week and get his thoughts on topics from the NFL, to offseason workouts, to the new players on the team. Here is what he had to say.

UGASports: How's the team doing? What's the spirit of the team like, coming off of a win against Virginia Tech?

Brandon Miller: Right now, it's great because we got some new guys in from GMC, a bunch of offense line and defense linemen, and they're trying to get adapted to the workout and we were just getting back used to the workout. I mean, we have great enthusiasm from everybody on the team. Everybody comes to the work ready to go, ready to give 110 percent every day, and they have somebody saying, "Let's do 110 percent," and they have some amount to give as much they can.

UGASports: Looking back at last year, obviously, you always go at it 100 percent, but coming off of the Sugar Bowl, the way things went with West Virginia; this year the season went up and down, but finishing with the big three wins at the end. Is there any difference in the feel of the team or would you be still just as fired up either way?

Brandon Miller: I think more of the way we finished, like our motto finish the drill. I think this past year, we finished very, very, very strong. And for the older guys, it gave us a little more motivation work harder for next year. Since we lost a lot on defense and lost a couple offense; this will be a big year for us. So I think there's more enthusiasm for this year.

UGASports: You mentioned some of the new guys coming in, quite a bit of them. I guess there's, what, like, seven guys come in? Some are juco, some prep school, couple of high school seniors and all that. Are they buying into it right away? I mean, they hitting the ground running?

Brandon Miller: Oh, yes, sir. They're ready to go. They're ready to get on the field, just ready to go. I mean, a lot of those guys are saying after they lift weights and running to lose the extra weight. Vince Vance lives down the hall from me, and he has been working extra hard. That's one I personally know because I talk to him a lot. Everybody's just working hard. This workout is very different from where they're currently from.
