Ryan Pohl--Redshirt Review

BeaverBlitz.com The Oregon State Beavers, under coach Riley, have made it a priority to recruit the Hawaiian Islands. Led by coach Banker, coaches Mike Cavanaugh and Joe Seumalo have truly worked overtime developing relationships with the high school coaches and selling the benefits and philosophy of OSU football to the prospective student-athletes in Hawaii. Although the Beavers have recruited skill position players from Hawaii, traditionally many hard-working lineman have made the jump to division I football from the Islands, and 2006 was no exception. Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha offensive line stand-out Ryan Pohl has made the journey to Corvallis and has excelled in the orange and black.
In his first year at Oregon State, Pohl has taken advantage of the strength and conditioning program, putting on nearly twenty pounds of muscle. When he arrived last fall he weighed in at 261 pounds, while currently he is up to 280.
