Jayhawks tie draft record
The five former Kansas players who were selected Thursday, tied the record for the most players taken in the two-round draft, which is also held by Connecticut and Florida. Brandon Rush was the first Jayhawk off the board when Portland selected him at No. 13, only to trade him (pending league approval) to Indiana for rookie Jerryd Bayless. It was a night filled with questionable selections and trades galore, as none of the five Kansas players will be with the team that originally selected them.
The debate will begin as to whether or not Darrell Arthur and Mario Chalmers should have left school early.
Arthur, who might have been the biggest story of the night after falling all the way to pick No. 27, only to be traded three times by New Orleans, Portland, Houston, finally ending up with Memphis once the trades are approved by the NBA.
