Auburn's run to the national championship last season showed just how much of a difference a junior college transfer can make.
Cam Newton arguably had the best season of any junior college transfer in the history of the game, as the former Blinn (Texas) College star won the Heisman before going to the Carolina Panthers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft.
Auburn also had one of the nation's best defensive players in Nick Fairley, who won the Lombardi Award in his second year with the Tigers after beginning his college career at Copiah-Lincoln CC in Wesson, Miss.
Nobody on this list figures to make the same kind of impact as Newton or Fairley. Most of them play for schools with no shot at the national title. But even if they're not likely to contend for national individual awards such as the Heisman or Lombardi, they still should have major roles on their new teams. Nearly all of them already have won starting jobs with their new teams.
Here's a breakdown of junior college transfers who should make an instant impact this season.
