Three-star corner names a favorite

Ole Miss is in need of big defensive backs and one of the best of the Kansas Junior College league now lists the Rebels as his favorite.

Allen Bell spent the last two years at Independence Community College, a place where he red shirted his freshman year and played this past season. The standout corner will have three years to play three at the school he chooses.

"Right now Ole Miss is my favorite," Bell said Wednesday night. "The Ole Miss Coaches are supposed to be here tomorrow. I will take my official visit to Louisville this weekend and to Ole Miss on December 8."

Bell has been impressed with the way the Ole Miss coaching staff has recruited the three star prospect.

"Ole Miss has recruited me the hardest," Bell said. "They are telling me they want me to come in and start the next three years for them and they will get me ready for the league. I know they had the best linebacker in the country there this year."

According to Bell, the Ole Miss coaching staff is wanting him to play corner and also looking at him to return kick offs and perhaps punts.

Bell, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete that runs a 4.38 forty, currently has offers from East Carolina, Louisville, and Colorado. He has led his Independence C.C. team with a 23 yard average on kick off returns and over 18 yards per punt and scored a 60 touchdown on one return.

"Everyone is recruiting me to be a big corner at the next level," Bell said. "I like Ole Miss a lot; they are on top of my list right now."

Bell is scheduled to graduate in May.
