Golson has the Bulldogs as top choice

The Mississippi Gulf Coast has long been considered one of the hotbeds for college talent in the state and 2011 will be no exception.

Pascagoula is the home of one of the Magnolia State's top prospects in cornerback Senquez Golson. The six-foot, 180-pounder already has a pair of instate SEC offers.

"State and Ole Miss have offered me," Golson said. "I'm getting letters everyday from Michigan, Illinois and Stanford. There are a couple of letters from Southern Miss every now and then but it's mainly just State and Ole Miss so far."

But out of his early offers, there is one school that is standing out at this point.

"Mississippi State is basically my number one choice right now," Golson said. "I went there one time and my brother attends there right now. I liked it when I went to the Mississippi State-Florida game. I liked the atmosphere of the game."

Golson is friends with a former Pascagoula player that will be suiting up for the maroon and white next season in junior college transfer running back Vick Ballard.
