Commonwealth schools lead for Prince
Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry dual-threat quarterback David Prince is growing in popularity.
Wake Forest recently joined East Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech as the fourth school to offer Prince a scholarship. Prince believes his list of offers will increase this spring.
"I've been to [Virginia] Tech and UVA, but I didn't get a chance to get down to East Carolina and Wake Forest, but I do plan on doing so sometime this spring," Prince said.
Lonnie Galloway is recruiting Prince for the Demon Deacons.
"We've talked a couple of times, and we're still trying to settle a date for me to get down there and come to a [spring] practice," Prince said.
Prince anticipates playing wide receiver or defensive back at the collegiate level. He played wide receiver for five games as a sophomore before making the switch to quarterback.
The 6-feet, 175-pounder accumulated 1,700 yards of total offense, and scored 15 touchdowns to lead Patrick Henry to a 7-3 record.
This offseason Prince participated in the long-jump and triple-jump. He finished seventh in the state in the triple-jump, but pulled his hamstring in the long-jump.
"It's [hamstring] doing good," Prince said. "I'm getting a lot better."
