Burtnett talks commitment to TCU

Springtown tight end Bryson Burtnett knew last week that he had a decent chance of landing a scholarship offer from TCU.

After all, he was the star of the Frogs' satellite camp in Kilgore last Thursday, putting on a show with his agility, athleticism and 6-5, 225 pound frame. He worked linebackers like they were junior high defensive backs, caught nearly every ball thrown his way and showed the kind of footwork you'd expect from a power forward.

The TCU coaching staff told Burtnett after the camp that they were evaluating a couple other players at his position and he would know by Friday if he indeed had an offer.

That offer came early on Tuesday and Burtnett wasted no time, committing on the spot to Frogs co-offensive coordinator Jarrett Anderson.
