Christy commits to the Bulldogs

Mississippi State added its 14th member to the 2013 class tonight as Geismar, La., three-star wide receiver Shelby Christy gave his commitment.

"I woke up a couple of mornings ago thinking about Mississippi State," Christy said. "I just had a good feeling that was the school for me. So I waited it out and prayed on it and God just told me that was the school for me. Today I called Coach (Angelo) Mirando and told him I was ready to be a Bulldog. He said welcome to the family. I talked to Coach (Dan) Mullen and he said he couldn't wait to get me there so he could get the ball in my hands and be a playmaker."

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder is the Bulldogs fifth wide receiver in the class which will help with the departure of five senior wideouts.

Christy also owned offers from Cincinnati, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ole Miss, TCU and Vanderbilt.
