Arkansas RB plans to visit Ole Miss

Bryant, Ark. running back Chris Rycraw is like many other high school football stars who is yet to receive his first Division I offer; he's is holding out hope that something will open up before signing day on Feb. 3.
Rycraw, a 5-foot-11, 205 pound prospect with 4.54 speed in the 40-yard dash, is drawing interest from a couple of major college programs.

"Ole Miss is telling me that they like me and are looking at three backs, but will probably only offer one more," Rycraw said on Wednesday evening.
Rycraw said he has been talking with Rebel special teams coach James Shibest, who recruits Arkansas for Ole Miss, and he has set up an official visit to Ole Miss for Jan. 29.
In addition to the interest from Ole Miss, Rycraw recently got a surprise call from North Carolina head coach Butch Davis.
"Coach Davis told me that they want me, but their class is full," Rycraw said. "He wants me to go to junior college for a couple of years and said they'll find a place for me when I finish."
The situations with Ole Miss and North Carolina have Rycraw in a holding pattern, but he's wise enough to consider other options.
"I've got some offers in-state, like Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Ouachita Baptist University and I'm seriously considering those schools if something doesn't work out with Ole Miss," he said.
He wouldn't discount taking a grayshirt, if offered by Ole Miss, but he didn't seem open to the idea of attending junior college.
"If I can't go to Ole Miss, I'll probably end up at Ouachita, I really like it over there," he said.
The visit on Jan. 29 will not be Rycraw's first visit to Ole Miss - he tripped to the Oxford campus last November when the Rebels played LSU.
"Oh man, I really loved it over there," he said. "It was a great trip - a great game day atmosphere, great game, everything about it was good and impressive."
Rycraw rushed for 1,667 yards his senior season on only 252 carries and 19 touchdowns while pulling down an estimated 20 to 25 passes while playing some at wide receiver.
He said he has a 2.69 core GPA and recently scored an 18 on his second ACT attempt.
