Gandy to visit Ole Miss this weekend

Wayne County High is off to another fast start on the gridiron with a 4-0 record over the likes of Columbus, Madison Central, McComb, and Florence to start the season. Amazingly, Wayne County has only allowed a meager 13 points to be scored on them so far this season.
Safety and linebacker Steve Gandy is their defensive leader, but he’s been slowed down recently with an injury.

“I really haven’t been doing as well as I thought I would,” he said. “I had a broken hand and I am just now getting the cast off.”
Gandy currently has no favorites, but is hearing from a plethora of schools.
“I’m looking at Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, and Tennessee,” he said.
With his mind on winning another state title, recruiting is in the back of Gandy’s mind right now. But, he will find time to visit Oxford this upcoming weekend to see Ole Miss battle Texas Tech.
“I’m not sure who they are playing,” he said. “I told Coach (Ron) Middleton I’d go and check them out.”
Before making his visit to Ole Miss, Gandy will lead his team against local rival Quitman High.
