Georgia WR trying to commit to Rebels

While some fans have expressed concern about Ole Miss' four commitments, with two of those coming as recently as last week, it's not like the Rebels haven't had plenty interest in their program - and in some cases - to the extent of prospects trying to commit.
"I tried to commit to Ole Miss," Ellenwood (Cedar Grove), Ga. wide receiver KLon Smith said on Sunday evening. "But the coaches want me to come check out the campus and everything to make sure I like everything before I commit."

As expected with the wide receiver prospect wanting to commit, he said Ole Miss is his clear leader.
Smith said that Terry Price dropped by his high school in the spring and the Rebels' defensive line coach who recruits Georgia for Ole Miss has remained in touch, with him talking to Price as recently as two weeks ago.
While Smith has apparently been under the radar of most schools, that apparently is about to change, thanks to his claim of having sub-4.4 speed (4.37) and nice size for a wide receiver prospect (6-foot-1, 205 pounds.
Smith also reports offers from Georgia and Toledo, he is also drawing interest from Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and East Carolina.
He said he picked up the Ole Miss offer about a month ago.
"Coach Price, he's telling me a lot of good stuff," Smith said. "He's just saying that he wants me to get there and see if I like it."
Smith didn't have his stats from his junior season, but estimates that he had about 30 receptions, good for about 400 yards and also returned kicks and punts for his high school team. Smith also ran track this spring and was a member of his high school's 4x440 team that won the Georgia state championship.
In addition to his outstanding 40-yard dash time, Smith reports a 37-inch vertical leap.
Smith has a 2.6 GPA and said he'll take the ACT for the first time later this fall.
RSN Extra: UGASports.com junior evaluation of Smith: Speed, speed, speed… That is what Smith is all about. He will likely line up at running back and receiver this year for the Saints so he can touch the ball a lot. He is great in space and hard to track down.
