OXFORD | Ole Miss and Wright State had the third game of their season opening series washed out Sunday because of overnight rainfall that continued throughout the day.

The Rebels and Raiders each won a game on the weekend, with Ole Miss taking the opener, 10-1, and Wright State evening things with a 9-5 win on Saturday.

Ole Miss is scheduled to resume play Tuesday at home against Arkansas State, though the current forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain Tuesday and Tuesday night. The Rebels are in New Orleans this coming weekend for a three-game set at Tulane.

Ole Miss freshman Gunnar Hoglund was the scheduled starter Sunday and could have become only the second true freshman pitcher to start on the opening weekend of a season in Mike Bianco's 19 years. Mark Holliman in 2003 remains the lone member of the club. Cody Satterwhite, in 2006, also had a start washed out on the first weekend of the season.

Several teams in the region played doubleheaders on Saturday to avoid this possibility, but Ole Miss expected the weather to clear by mid-morning.
