RebelGrove.com's 2016 college football predictions

MORE: DISCUSS OUR PICKS HERE | REBS TIRED OF HITTING EACH OTHER

We're again gluttons for punishment, as the staff at RebelGrove.com continues its tradition of guessing how Ole Miss' season will play out, as well as which teams and players will take home conference and national honors.

Each participant has hit Ole Miss' overall record on the head two of the last three years, and there were only one-game misses when it didn't work out perfectly. There's been a little less luck with with Heisman and player of the year answers.

So, without anymore rambling, here are the 2016 slate of predictions.

TOUGHEST GAME

Neal McCready: This is a really difficult topic to accurately address. I mean, the toughest game is Alabama. The Crimson Tide is loaded once again and they’re very difficult to defeat. However, I think Ole Miss’ road schedule is sneaky tough. At Arkansas, at LSU, at Texas A&M and at Vanderbilt is chock full of potential land mines. For whatever reason, that trip to College Station keeps standing out in my mind as an immensely difficult test late in the year.

Parham: Alabama is the stock answer and isn't a bad option, but it's the opener against Florida State. With new pieces in new places, Ole Miss has to gel immediately for a not-so-neutral-site game against the No. 4 'Noles in Orlando. FSU returns a plethora of lettermen and starters, including a very explosive defensive front that will test the Rebels. It says so much that this can be considered the toughest, and Ole Miss has more than a puncher's chance to win the game. FSU starting redshirt freshman Deondre Francois gives Ole Miss that potential plus on that side of the ball, but it's a tall task to deal with Dalvin Cook out of the gate for a team finding its way with some defensive pieces.

Jeffrey Wright: Alabama: When making preseason predictions, the temptation to go against the grain is always present, but while you may disagree with my opinion, I never want anyone to think that I’m making a statement solely for attention. Feel free to say that my entire life is a cry for attention, but remember that those two are not one and the same. The toughest opponent is still Alabama. While Ole Miss has exorcised the demons against the Tide, no team has won three-straight games against Nick Saban since his arrival to the Southeastern Conference. Alabama is still the defending national champion, and Ole Miss will have to play a near-perfect game in order to beat them.
