OXFORD | There's still more than a month of nerves for Ole Miss recruiting coordinator Carl Lafferty, but this past week went nearly perfect in the Rebels' quest to get its entire high school signing class to campus.

Ole Miss didn't have a single signee from its No. 7 nationally ranked 2016 class picked in the first 10 rounds of the MLB First-Year Player Draft -- the part of the Draft when teams typically pay overslot signing bonuses to secure high-priced talent.

A significant portion of Ole Miss' class could have had its name called during the first two days (top 10 rounds) of the event, but the top of the group held firm to their pre-draft signing requirements and have indicated they will be in Oxford to start college this summer.

"You’re talking about some of the best players in country," Lafferty said. "Draft day is big for them, and a lot had opportunities. The neat thing for us is they want to be a part of our program. Current players are good for it because they know how talented the guys are and how they can help. We’re excited to get them here. We’re fortunate to have the chance to have them on campus and continue their careers."
