No. 8 Ole Miss hosts UT-Martin Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Swayze Field. The Rebels (3-0) are coming off a sweep of TCU this past weekend, while UT-Martin is 0-4 after three losses to Southeastern Louisiana and a loss to Southern Illinois on Tuesday night. Ole Miss leads the all-time series 13-1, with the Skyhawks' lone win coming in 2000 in Oxford.
Sophomore right-hander Sam Smith will start for Ole Miss. It's his first action of the season after making nine starts with a 5.80 as a freshman. Against UT-Martin last season, a 20-4 Rebels win, Smith struck out six and allowed two runs in 3.2 innings.
The Skyhawks are starting sophomore lefty Carter Smith (0-1), who allowed one run on one hit in an inning during last season's matchup.
Wednesday night's promotion at Swayze Field is "Kid's Night" and "Dollar Dog Night". Kids under 12 will get in free to the park, while hot dogs will be on sale for one dollar.
Ole Miss hosts Rhode Island in a three-game set this weekend.
