It's time for The Mailbag, presented by Whitney McNutt of Tommy Morgan Inc. Realtors, Edition 112.

I asked for your questions. You delivered. So here we go...

From Patrick C Timony: Thought on the Hawks off-season moves (draft and free agency)?

I love what they've done. Rajon Rondo gives the Hawks some stability at the point and will help Trae Young. Assuming the Kings don't match, Bogdan Bogdanovich gives the Hawks another scorer to take some pressure off Young, and I love Danillo Gaillinari. He's a consummate professional and, assuming he's managed well from a work-load standpoint, really helps that team.

From DrBobLoblaw: Better college QB. Matt Corral or Chad Kelly?

Call me crazy, but Corral.

I've always been a believer. I expect big things from him next season.

From Frasier Crane: In last week’s mailbag, in response to a question about building a brand identity, you said for Ole Miss to become an SEC power, facilities would have to be addressed. Can you expound on this? What facility improvements are needed to become an SEC power and what improvements could reasonably be started or completed in the foreseeable future?

Weight room, meeting rooms, dorms, etc., all need to be addressed. These days, even though it's not necessary, you have to trick it out and impress. Perhaps the pandemic will change that, but Ole Miss' football facilities are just average, and average won't get it done in this league.

From RebelCommodore: Best cheap beer in your opinion? Stuff that you’d get from Kroger or a sketchy gas station. In other words teenager beer.

I like Miller High Life and Coors.

Does that make me a bad person?

From larryjoe1979: Who's Ole Miss Coaching biography would you rather write(assuming you get all the info and can include it):Houston NuttHugh FreezeEd Orgeron

Freeze is a great story. If I could get the unfettered truth, that's a story worth telling. No one will ever get the unfettered truth.

From ChargerRebel: Do you think Texas A&M wanted to make sure they were playing on the 19th to keep them on the selection committee's TV the same day Alabama beats Florida?

No, I think they wanted to make sure Kellen Mond was under center.

From nas5108: What are the Thanksgiving plans in the McCready household this year? What food dish are you most looking forward to?

We will go to my parents' house. They'll do turkey, ham, all the sides, etc.

Here's a glimpse into my sick mind:

I don't look forward to food. I view food as an enemy of sorts. I'm scared of it. As a former fat boy who is still kind of fat, all I see are calories. When I look in the mirror, all I see is a big round head and a heavy chest and love handles. When I then look at food, all I see are the aforementioned flaws. That's never going away.

If anything, it's worse now than it's ever been, and I was paranoid about food all the way back to high school.

I wish I could just let it go on a holiday and have a fun day, and occasionally I can, but it's rare.

From Sig Reb: Across the major three sports, which SEC team has the worst uniforms?

Missouri. They screw up black and gold in a way that is ridiculous.

Tennessee is a close second. I hate their uniforms in almost every sport.

From nas5108: What do you think have been some of the best and worst free agent signings in the NBA this offseason?

I love Gordon Hayward, but I have no idea why Charlotte gave him that deal. Also, what is Detroit doing?

I love the Lakers' additions. Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol should help them tremendously. I like what the Sixers did as well, adding Dwight Howard and Tony Bradley.

From heybob: The football Gods come down and tell you that these three things are possible with ole miss football 5 years from today. Those options are:1.2.3.Happy Thanksgiving you you and your family.

1. Ole Miss is a national title contender with Arch Manning and Lane Kiffin proving to be a recruiting machine.

2. Ole Miss is a little deficient on defense, leaving the Rebels frustratingly close to a title but not quite there.

3. Lane Kiffin bolted for Texas/Ohio State/USC in the middle of the night, leaving Ole Miss in a lurch and jeopardizing a recruiting class, setting the program back two years.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

From J-REEZY23: 1. When do you expect more MPW gear will be available?2. What do you think Kiffin’s ceiling is at Ole Miss with what you have seen thus far?

That's Chase's department, but he said the restocking is occurring just in time for the holidays.

From BigDogSaint23: Why isn’t Covid over? Thought we just had to elect Joe Biden and he would cure it?

Just mask up and wait two more weeks. And then two more. And then two more. And then two more. Once we lockdown and shut down all the small businesses, everybody will be sucking on that government tit and then we'll be two weeks from Utopia.

I really don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but the way this has been handled and reported and legislated has made me a bit paranoid.

I'll never understand why we, as a nation, weren't honest about who was and who wasn't at risk. The damage is done now. The lines are drawn. I don't think either "side" of this is going to give an inch, and I think 2021 is going to be significantly nastier in our country than 2020 dreamed of being.

From walnutreb:Who's the current or former rebel athlete you'd most like to have a beer with and why?

Eli Manning. He seems like a really good guy. I met him once in a spin class, but I didn't bother him.

From BIGBGISME: Listening to Lanes PC Monday. It sounded like a lot more people were on the call than Normal. If so, Do you think they are reporters on the state beat? Is that normal to be on other coaches PC for each week?

Nah, it was just some TV guys. They can't help themselves.

As for reporters covering other beats being on the opponent's press conference, yes, that's normal.

From OrangeBeachReb: Two question: 1) @Jay G. Tate is certainly a different cat. What was your first impressions of JG and did you like him and his frosted tips at first. 2) Besides JG’s YouTube show(s), what other team site’s version of HRG YouTube production (Rival’s or not) do you admire?

1. Yeah, I've always loved Jay. He's a wonderful human.

2. I pay attention to Texas, South Carolina, Alabama and a few others. Believe it or not, I think we're ahead of the curve (or curb).

From HaysMoreland: 1. As a father, what about your kids makes you most proud? 2. what are you most looking forward to in the next stage of life when the kids are out of the house?

1. I love seeing them gain confidence in their futures. Campbell is really spreading her wings, and I love seeing that. She's gotten into politics this year and she's a fighter. Her job at Zen has made her even more responsible, more accountable, more independent. She'll stand up for herself and fight. She's disciplined and determined. I love that.

Caroline is a grinder. She chases her dreams with passion. She's always been that way, and seeing it pay off makes me so happy for her. She's going to go places. She's fearless. She will fight you. You have no idea how much I love that.

Carson is such a kind soul. This year has been hard for him, but hopefully, the OMS soccer season will happen. He was so excited for it. I don't think it's easy being the little brother of the aforementioned girls, but he's a sharp kid. He's going to figure it out. He's smart. He's kind of laid-back. But there are moments when I see him flip a switch and get tough, and I love that.

It's a mean world out there, and I don't believe in lying to your kids about that, but I do think Laura and I have raised three people who are going to be successful and empathetic at the same time.

2. I don't know. I think about it from time to time, but I don't know. I've spent so much of my life focused on the kids. When they're not here any more, I don't know what life will look or feel like. I don't know what I'll want to do. I guess I'll see where I am four years from now and start evaluating what options I may or may not have.

From Hannitized: Do you rattle your keys when it is time for your Thanksgiving company to leave?  OR go put on the tank top tee and sit in your chair while popping a cold one? Or both?

Haha. We go to my parents' for Thanksgiving and we rarely entertain. You'll have to come over next time you're in Oxford. I'll know now how to tell you the night is over.
