Tulsa ATH talks Ole Miss official visit

Tulsa (Union HS), Okla. athlete Terrell Williams won't be at Ole Miss' senior camp on Saturday, but that doesn't mean that he's any less interested in the Rebels.

"I got an e-mail from Coach (Ron) Dickerson this week and gave him a call," Williams said on Wednesday. "He just wanted to know how recruiting is going and if I was settled in after my move and ready to play football. We had a real nice conversation. Coach Dickerson is really a good guy."

Williams' family recently re-located locally and he'll now play this fall for Union after previously playing at Edison in Tulsa.

Williams is a 6-foot-4, 215 pound athlete with 4.63 speed who played several positions last fall as a junior. Those positions included quarterback, wide receiver, defensive back and linebacker. Williams said he has grown to his current size from that listed as 6-foot-2, 196 pounds, data which was obtained over year ago at a Nike Camp.

"I think Ole Miss likes me as a wide receiver," Williams said. "They keep telling me that they really like my size, but they are also saying that I might get to run the Wild Rebel formation."

The Wild Rebel is a take off of Houston Nutt's offense at Arkansas, where he moved star running back Darren McFadden in a shotgun formation with the option to hand off the football to a running back, pass, or pick his hole and run the football.

The offers continue to flow in for Williams. He recently received offers from Oklahoma State and Rutgers and says he has about 15 offers overall with Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Rutgers, Orgeron State, Tulsa and Stanford "being the main ones."

Earlier in the year, Williams had talked of taking an unofficial visit to check out Ole Miss, but his camp schedule was cut short.

In fact, Williams has attended only one camp - that at Arkansas which is only about 100 miles from his home - and has been limited in making any other trips due to gas prices.

While Williams hasn't settled on his five official visits, which can begin after Sept. 1, he certainly talked like a prospect who will include Ole Miss on his visit list.

"I've heard nothing but great things about their facilities and program," Williams said. "I'm looking forward to visiting there and learning more about the coaches and program."

Williams isn't the only Union High prospect that is attracting attention.

"My best friend, Anthony Foster, also just got an offer from Ole Miss," Williams said. "Ole Miss may be looking for a package deal with us."

In addition to Williams and Foster - both rated three-star prospects by Rivals.com - Union boasts four-star running back Jeremy Smith, an Oklahoma State commitment, three star tight end Tracy Moore, and three star offensive guard Brian DeShane.

Williams said he'll take his five official visits before making a decision and doesn't see committing until sometime in January.

The prep standout has reported a 3.9 GPA and a 20 on his first ACT attempt.
