As Braxton Ragland made the decision to transfer from Leeds to St. Clair County, he built a quick relationship with four-star 2018 Ole Miss signee Jalen Cunningham, who he now has a chance to play with at the next level.

The moment Ole Miss offered Ragland following his visit last month, commitment has been on his mind. On Friday afternoon, that thought became a reality.

"I called coach (Derrick) Nix on Thursday and told him I was ready to be a Rebel," Ragland said about the commitment.

Ragland chose Ole Miss over other offers from several G5 programs, and interest coming from Clemson and Auburn, among others.

"Coach Nix was fired up when I told him," Ragland said. "He and I have built a great relationship. I can always count on (Nix) to keep it real, and we always have great conversations. They've built a great staff, who are willing to work with you and make things happen. It's a great place to be."

Will Ragland still consider other schools and take other visits?

"No, thats not something I see myself doing," he said about the topic that has become a hot button question in this industry. "I could have waited for something else, if that was what I wanted. Committing to Ole Miss was the best decision for me and my family."

Ragland's first visit to Ole Miss was just weeks ago, and he will be back on campus this weekend for the Grove Bowl.

"They're willing to work with me there in Oxford, and for me to have the chance to call that place home, I love it. It's time to take care of business and get this thing rolling."
