Wide receiver RJ Sneed commits to the Rebels over UCLA, Nebraska

In what has been a roller coaster to say the least, it seems to finally be over.

Cypress Ranch (Texas) wide receiver RJ Sneed announced his commitment to Ole Miss Sunday afternoon, in a video he filmed weeks ago, delaying the announcement multiple times.

“Every official (visit) is going to be nice, but nothing compares to Ole Miss,” he said. “It’s a pretty neat environment and they throw the ball a lot, so you can’t complain about that as a receiver.”

Sneed, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound wideout, has been leaning toward the Rebels since decommitting from TCU late in September after visiting Oxford. He chose Ole Miss over Nebraska, UCLA and Oklahoma State.

“It was nice, it was a real family environment,” Sneed said. “I like coach (Hugh) Freeze and (wide receivers) coach (Grant) Heard. They’re really good people that care about their players. They want to see them develop as men, not just on the field but off the field. I just like the values they have there.”

Sneed becomes the 11th commit for the Rebels, a day after Shea Patterson threw for 338 yards in his debut. Ole Miss beat Texas A&M, 29-28, giving the No. 1 quarterback in the 2016 class a win in his first start.

"I was very impressed (with Patterson)," Sneed said. "He showed up and showed out. I was glad to see his success. I'm very excited. It should be fun the few years with him and the other wide receivers."
