Fast Five: Ole Miss' McGriff may have an impact on these prospects
MORE: Coordinator hires will be judged by scoreboard
Ole Miss filled its defensive coordinator opening with Wesley McGriff, who was on the Rebels staff in 2012 and was the key recruiter in Ole Miss' No. 7 national class in 2013.
McGriff is an elite recruiter, and since his last time in Oxford, he's coached with the New Orleans Saints and spent this past season as co-defensive coordinator/secondary coach at Auburn.
The coaching veteran, who has also spent time at Vanderbilt, Miami, Baylor and Kentucky during his career, was the lead recruiter in Ole Miss landing Laquon Treadwell and Robert Nkemdiche and was also the deciding factor in several other wins that recruiting season, including four-star wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo.
While the lead coordinator job is new to him, recruiting at this level is McGriff's normal. With less than two months until National Signing Day, here are five prospects who may give Ole Miss a harder look with McGriff at the defensive helm.
