Going into this past weekend, many may wonder just how much the NCAA investigation is altering the recruiting momentum for Ole Miss in the class of 2018 and beyond.

Those wondering now have the answer they may have hoped to avoid: things have completely changed.

Still, several, several talented recruits from all over the country stopped in Oxford for a visit.

Let's take a look back at the five things I was looking for going into the weekend.

1. Who showed up?

Well-documented last month was the amount of recruits who were expected on campus that didn't show. This time around, that list was much smaller. Marcus Murphy was the most impactful of those who didn't show up, and it seems like Ole Miss is ready to move on completely from the Mississippi State commitment. Some of the big-time visitors:

2. Did anyone commit?

While an announcement was expected today, as of right now it does not appear that anything is imminent. With Jeffery Johnson, Jaylon Reed, and Nakobe Dean among those on campus, many thought a commitment would be imminent. The state of Mississippi (those not already committed) appear to be in wait and see mode until the NCAA makes their next move.

3. What's the latest out of the state of Alabama?

Five notable recruits from the state of Alabama visited this weekend: QB Swift Lyle, LB Jacquez Jones, 2019 OL Clay Webb, and the two commitments, Allen Love and Jonathan Hess all were on campus this past weekend.

Really feels like a matter of when, not if, in terms of the timing of more commitments from the state of Alabama. Seth Williams will be on campus closer to the end of the month.

4. Who emerged at quarterback?

There were three major 2018 quarterbacks who visited Ole Miss this weekend: Kevin Doyle, Gerry Bohanon Jr.,and Swift Lyle. Of those three, I would have to say Bohanon is the one who stood out the most to me. Yes, there are some things he needs to work on in his senior season, but he was a member of the Elite 11 finals for good reason.

The upside for Bohanon as a potential SEC quarterback is clear, and I would be that currently he is likely their top target at the position.

5. Who received an offer?

The following recruits received offers:

2019 University Lab (La.) LB Christian Harris

2019 Horn Lake (Miss.) ATH Raydarious Jones

2019 Oxford (Ala.) OL Clay Webb (he didn't know he had an offer)

2018 McDonough 35 (La.) DL Devin Winters
