Jordan Ta'amu Commits to the Rebels

On a busy night for the Rebels on the trail, the biggest news may have come when New Mexico Military Academy quarterback Jordan Ta'amu met with Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze to tell him he wanted to be a Rebel.

Ta'amu was also considering Minnesota but he plans to sign with Ole Miss on Wednesday. Ta'amu knew Oxford was where he wanted to be the moment he arrived on campus.

"From the moment I set foot on campus, I knew this was the place for me," Ta'amu said. "My family and I kept praying that God would show us the way and what school I was meant to go to, and today he answered my prayers."

What made him commit Saturday, rather then wait until Wednesday?

"The culture, the connections with the coaching staff, the love they show, and my family, they love it here," Ta'amu said.

Ta'amu is also excited to have the chance to play in the SEC.

"To be able to play in the best conference in America is something I can't wait to do," Ta'amu said. "If you want to be the best you have to be able to play (and beat) the best.

Ta'amu said he is not worried about the NCAA's investigation of the Rebels.

"My family and I met with Coach Freeze and he talked to us about what is going on with the NCAA," Ta'amu said. "I'm just excited to be a Rebel and to take the next step in my career."

Ta'amu is the Rebels 12th commit of the 2017 class, and the second Saturday.
