It's been a hectic off-season thus far for three-star Kirkwood (Mo.) wide receiver Maurice Massey. Following an early commitment to Iowa State (and decommitment) and transferring to Kirkwood from Francis Howell North.

He's hoping the storm has passed, and that the blessings are coming, as several schools have shown interest since he got to Kirkwood.

Massey caught up with RebelGrove.com while in Nashville over the weekend at the Music City Showdown.

"The recruiting process has been crazy so far," Massey said. "Schools have really started hitting me up recently, it's been booming. I'm really looking to the summer."

Massey hasn't been able to take any visits so far this spring, but he seems to have a valid excuse.

"To be honest, I have been so worried about school and everything, I haven't been anywhere yet."

As for Ole Miss and Massey, interest seems to be picking up in recent weeks.

"It was on and off before, but as of late it's really been consistent, a constant communication more or less."

Could an offer be coming?

"I don't want to say too much to get my hopes up, but basically with me transferring schools, there was some questions about my eligiblity," Massey said.

"Now that everything with that has been taken care of, the next step in the process isn't far away."

As much as an offer from Ole Miss would mean to him, it doesn't sound like it would equate to an instant decision, not this time around.

"I'm going to take my time this go-around, and let everything play out."

When I asked Massey if he saw himself playing in the SEC, he looked up with a big smile on his face and said: "Yeah, I do. I'm open to whatever opportunity presents itself, but I definitely do."

Massey plans on running track this season, and taking visits in the summer.
