Brent Venables continues to do work in the transfer portal. The latest addition for the Sooners comes on the offensive side of the ball in the form of a playmaking wide receiver.

Former Michigan wideout Andrel Anthony announced his decision to transfer to Oklahoma after entering the portal earlier this month. The move comes shortly after Anthony visited the Big 12 program over the weekend.

Additionally, the Sooners hired wide receivers coach Emmett Jones from Texas Tech for the same role in Norman on Tuesday, just before Anthony revealed his intentions. The former Michigan wideout gives Jones and the Sooners' offensive staff a speedy pass catching threat to offset the loss of Marvin Mims.

TRANSFER TRACKER: The latest Portal developments

While in Ann Arbor, the former high three-star prospect hauled in 19 receptions for 328 yards and four touchdowns through two seasons. His big campaign came as a freshman in 2021, where he totaled 12 catches for 248 yards and three scores in eight games.

This is another notable get for the Sooners out of the Big Ten. Venables also landed coveted linebacker transfer Dasan McCullough from Indiana as Oklahoma looks to use the portal to its advantage entering year-two of the Venables tenure.

Andrel Anthony will arrive to Norman with multiple years of eligibility still remaining.
