Ole Miss scored on the second play of the game and didn't trail for the first 59 minutes, 56 seconds of this one, but Arkansas erased a 24-point deficit, including nine points in the final minutes, and beat the Rebels with a 33-yard field goal in the last seconds.

Ole Miss is 3-5 and 1-4 in the SEC with a road trip to Kentucky up next. Here are some quick reactions from the loss that left the Rebels struggling for answers.

ARKANSAS EXECUTES UNCOMMON COMEBACK

The Rebels led 31-7 with nearly 11 minutes left in the second quarter, and the ESPN win probability was 97.7 percent in favor of Ole Miss at the time.

However, as Arkansas stormed back, the Rebels became just the ninth FBS team -- and first SEC team -- since 2004 to blow a 24-point second quarter advantage. The other programs to do it are SMU, Rice, UNLV, North Texas, Stanford, Washington, Hawaii and Kansas State.

ESPN's win probability also gave Ole Miss a 91 percent chance at one point in the fourth quarter.

While this was the first loss for the Rebels after a 24-point advantage in that span, Ole Miss blew second-quarter leads of 22 and 21 points last season against Florida State and Alabama, respectively.

TA'AMU DIRECTS SUCCESSFUL OFFENSIVE DAY

The six-point second half will be the main blemish, but Jordan Ta'amu, in place of injured starter Shea Patterson, excelled during his first career start.

The New Mexico Military transfer completed 67 percent of his passes for 368 yards -- the most in school history by a first-time starter -- and added 76 yards and two touchdowns on the ground including a 49-yarder for a score.

The Rebels put up 566 yards of total offense in the game though only 51 of those came in the fourth quarter.

Ole Miss averaged 9.6 yards per play. That's the fourth most in FBS by a losing team in the past 14 seasons. New Mexico (2014), Fresno State (2013) and Middle Tennessee (2007) are the only teams to lose a game with a higher yards per play during that span.

Five of Ole Miss seven scoring drives took fewer than two minutes, and Arkansas doubled the Rebels' time of possession.

TURNOVERS FUEL OLE MISS DEFEAT

Arkansas converted three turnovers into 21 points during the comeback win against Ole Miss. Meanwhile, the Rebels forced two turnovers but picked up just three points on the following possessions.

The most egregious turnover came with six minutes left in the game. Ta'amu and Eric Swinney met on a zone read, the same play that earlier produced a touchdown, but the ball squirted free at the mesh point, and Arkansas' Kevin Richardson picked it up and went 22 yards for the touchdown.

It cut the Ole Miss lead to two points. Ta'amu said he was trying to keep the ball and picked up positive yardage as he saw the defensive end crashing toward Swinney.

The Rebels had four plays on the next drive, giving the ball back to Arkansas for the final possession. The Razorbacks, aided by a pass interference call that would have otherwise ended the game, went 62 yards on 12 plays to set up the field goal.

BRET BIELEMA LIVING OFF WINS OVER OLE MISS

Arkansas has beaten Ole Miss four straight seasons, and the Rebels' only win over the Hogs under Bret Bielema came in 2013 in Oxford.

Bielema is 11-26 in the SEC during his tenure in Fayetteville, but he's 4-1 against Ole Miss. LSU is the only other SEC team he's beaten more than once, and he's 2-2 against the Tigers.

Ole Miss hasn't won three or more consecutive games in the series since beating the Razorbacks four times from 1990-1993. Arkansas also beat the Rebels four straight times from 2004-2007.
