Georgia ATH making the camp rounds

Bremen, Ga. tight end prospect Jay Stansberry is yet to receive his first Division I offer, but with the release of his video on Rivals.com Wednesday and various camp appearances coming up, it's likely only a matter of time.
Stansberry, 6-foot-4, 265 pounds with 4.8 speed, may not be noticed until later in his senior season because he's a "tweener" college coaches aren't exactly sure where he'll best fit in at the college level. He likely is too big to play linebacker and not playing defensive end results in a lack of experience and exposure at that position and hinders any evaluation by coaches.

Stansberry, who grew an inch in height and added 20 pounds since his playing days last fall, may still not be finished growing at only 17 years of age.
He played linebacker on defense last fall and recorded 103 tackles and played tight end on offense where he was used exclusively for blocking.
College coaches are looking at him as a possible offensive lineman, tight end, and defensive end.
His just released video shows an aggressive blocking style where it appears he nearly always pancakes his opponent and sometimes handles more than one defender, often appearing to almost make the opposing side of the line collapse. On defense, he sheds blockers well, but likely doesn't have the speed to play that position in college.
On Tuesday, Stansberry showed off his abilities at Clemson, electing to attend just one day of a three day camp.
"It was a great atmosphere at Clemson," Stansberry said on Tuesday. "I met the defensive line coach and worked with some other coaches, it was great."
Stansberry said his father sent video to Ole Miss coaches last fall and the Rebels had begun to recruit him. He and his father attended one game last fall in Oxford and saw the facilities and campus.
"It was a great campus – one of the best I've been to," Stansberry said.
However, Stansberry evidently has been lost in the transition between Ed Orgeron and Houston Nutt.
"I'm not hearing anything from Ole Miss right now," he said.
Ole Miss is one of several schools Stansberry is interested in, and while he has several camp attendances and unofficial visits lined up, he hasn't planned another trip to Oxford due to the Rebels not pursuing him.
"I'm hearing from Georgia Tech, Iowa, Central Florida, Troy, Indiana, and Vanderbilt," he said. "Right now, I'd say my favorite is probably Iowa."
He plans to visit Georgia Tech on June 14, and follow that with trips to Troy, Indiana, Iowa, and Purdue.
"Right now, while I'm favoring Iowa, I wouldn't commit to any school just because they offered," he said. "I'm open and I want to wait and see which teams offer."
While Stansberry is yet to receive his first Division I offer, several Division I-AA teams have offered including Jacksonville (Ala.) State and Georgia Southern.
RebelSports.net Extra: Rivals.com recruiting expert Barry Every watched Stansberry at a recent Combine in Texas and offered this analysis:
Jay Stansberry, TE/DE, Bremen (Ga.) Bremen
Size: 6-4, 265
Excelled at: Shuttle Time: 4.4, Vertical: 30, SBJ: 9-foot-4, Bench: 185x30
Comments: Came in as a tight end, but really looked that part of a strongside defensive end, or a future defensive tackle. He has a body type that is highly sought-after.
