Liam Doyle intends to enter transfer portal

OXFORD | Liam Doyle tells RebelGrove.com that he is entering the transfer portal after one season at Ole Miss.

This comes two days after Andrew Fischer, the Rebels' top returning offensive player, entered the portal, as well. The final day to file for the transfer portal is Tuesday. There's no deadline to choose a destination beyond the respective school's academic calendar.

Doyle transferred from Coastal Carolina last summer and was a weekend starter for Ole Miss most of the season. He was a candidate to be the Rebels' ace in 2025.

The left-handed pitcher and New Hampshire native had a 6.35 ERA in 45.1 innings with 72 strikeouts and 18 walks. Opponents hit .240 off of him.

Doyle's best two outings came against the two teams that played for the national championship. He allowed one run in six innings against Texas A&M and three earned runs in six innings at Tennessee. In those two games, he struck out 17 combined with one walk.

Doyle, JT Quinn and Grayson Saunier are the three most notable pitchers to enter the portal to this point for the Rebels.

Saint Joseph's right-hander Will McCausland committed to Ole Miss recently. The other two incoming commitments to date are Illinois State shortstop Luke Cheng and BYU catcher Collin Reuter.
