OXFORD | Doug Nikhazy’s final nonconference warmup continued three weeks of dominance.

The Ole Miss Friday starter no-hit Princeton for six innings and 97 pitches, making for a stress-free 15-0 win to open the series. Game two is at 1:30 Saturday.

The No. 9 Rebels (12-1) have won 12 straight which ties the record for consecutive wins under Mike Bianco — also winning 12 in a row in 2002 and 2013.

Princeton got its lone hit in the eighth inning with a single off Greer Holston.

Nikhazy stuck out a career-high 12 and walked three during the second six-inning effort with no hits in three weeks. He threw two-thirds of Ole Miss’ combined no-hitter against Xavier two weeks ago, and he has given up two earned runs in the last 17.2 innings.

"I challenged (Nikhazy) on the mound when I went out because he knew he wouldn't finish the no-hitter," Bianco said. "He was overthrowing a little bit because he knew what was going on and I think that led to walks he'd like to have back. But he got back to pitching."

Nikhazy said he tried to up his own energy knowing the opponent was an Ivy League school that entered the day 0-4.

"The fastball was enhanced and everything else played off that," Nikhazy said. "Tonight was exactly what I was looking for (before SEC play begins). I got to a triple digit pitch count and am ready for LSU next weekend."

Ole Miss starting weekend pitchers have gone at least five innings 10 games in a row.

The Rebels entered the day fourth nationally and on a school-record pace in home runs and ended the night back in first place in the country after a five-homer barrage brought them to 26 long balls on the season.

Ole Miss scored three runs total over the first four innings and then exploded for an eight-run sixth inning that featured three home runs from Tyler Keenan, Hayden Leatherwood and Tim Elko. Peyton Chatagnier and Kevin Graham each added one over the next two innings.

Nine different Ole Miss players have multiple home runs this season.

"I'm not surprised," Elko said. "We swung it well in the fall and have continued to do so."

Chatagnier, Keenan and Elko all had three hits, and Keenan is 11-for-21 with 11 RBIs and three home runs in the past five games.

Ole Miss walked eight times and reached on three hit by pitches while striking out seven times.

"We need to keep working on striking out less and keep walking and moving runners," Bianco said. "Tonight was a good night for that and then the power came. But cutting down the strikeouts is the thing."

Holston pitched two scoreless relief innings and Logan Savell got the final three outs.
