"I'm really proud of this team, and the way this group of young ladies played today," said head coach Steve Holeman. "You never come into a game with a team like Florida and think you will get up three goals on them. I think we brought out the best in them at that point, and they turned things up even a notch further. They are a great team."
Hillary Beckman put the Lady Rebels on the board on the first shot of the game for the Rebels. Beckman stepped in to intercept a clear attempt by Florida and fired a rocket from 23 yards out that caught the back of the net, putting Ole Miss on top in the 22nd minute.

Ole Miss continued to attack, scoring the third goal of the game as Potts took the ball from midfield, intercepting a clear attempt and dribbled into position to take a 40 yard shot on an open goal, giving the Lady Rebels a 3-0 lead in the 53rd minute.
The Gators would not give up, responding with their own attack as Robin Fulton took a pass from Ashley Kellgren in the box and finding the back of the net to put Florida on the board in the 61st minute.
Florida would cut into the gap again, finding the goal off a header from Megan McMillan off a corner-kick from Melanie Booth in the 63rd minute.
